Born of Mary, a virgin betrothed to Joseph, Jesus was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and raised within a devout Jewish household. His early years were marked by quiet growth and spiritual depth, for “Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man” (Gospel of Luke 2:52).
At around thirty years of age, Jesus emerged into public life as a teacher, healer, and prophetic voice. Gathering twelve disciples and many followers, he travelled throughout ancient Palestine proclaiming a message both urgent and transformative: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” His teachings challenged religious formalism and called for inner renewal, compassion, and faith.
Perceived as a threat to religious authority and social order, Jesus was arrested by the Sanhedrin during the festival of Passover. He was crucified at the age of thirty-three. According to Christian belief, he rose from the dead on the third day, later ascended into Heaven, and will one day return in fulfilment of divine promise.
